Webelos Helping Webelos

Concerned about your Webelos earning Readyman and Outdoorsman? Concerned about whether they will "get" the patrol method and be ready for Boy Scouts when they cross over? This entertaining, educational event will let your Webelos earn two activity pins plus see the patrol method in action, while camping at a brand-new location (for them): Lost Pines.

2010 Jamboree Invitation

Please pass along to the Scouts in your troop the invitation to join the Capitol Area Council Contingent to the 2010 National Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. This is one of the most significant and exciting events in which 144 lucky Scouts from the Capitol Area Council can join more than 35,000 Scouts from the United States and Foreign countries.

Scouting Scam

The Finance Support Division of BSA's National Office has informed us that the "Scout Honor Card" fundraising offer by Access Development is NOT an approved Scout fundraiser - and has no connection to the Scouting program. The company is illegally using the language "Boy Scout", "Troop" and "Pack" in its promotional material - and units are warned to ignore any communication from this company and its offer.

We Have A Winner!

The Thunderbird District Logo contest is over, and the winner has been announced! Nick Huggins of Troop 377 is the 1st place winner, and Eric Moe of Troop 403 is the second place winner! This site will bear the winning logo before too long...

Roundtable Meetings for all leaders are held the first Thursday of every month, 7:30pm at Manchaca United Methodist Church.
Special Events

The Good Turn for America program is a year-round effort by the Boy Scouts of America to show the large amount of community service our local units perform. Each pack, troop and crew is required to log in to record their service hours performed. Log in passwords are available from the District Commissioner or your Unit Commissioner.
