Our training philosophy...

James E. West, the first Chief Scout Executive, was asked to identify the three most important needs of the Scouting organization. Mr. West responded, "Training, more training, and still more training."

There is no way that leaders can accumulate all the information and ideas they need to do an effective job in a few hours of training. It is important to remember that leadership training is a process that continues as long as an individual is actively involved in the program. To emphasize this process, there are four levels of training offered to leaders.

Learn more about them by clicking here or by contacting the Comanche training team.

Details on the climbing tower course and the registration form are here.

Wood Badge for the 21st Century is scheduled in October and November each year. Wood Badge is a comprehensive training course started by Robert S. S. Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts, to help leaders hone their skills, extend their understanding of boys and of other adults, and go on to new levels of personal growth and learning as Scouters. As Scouting has grown and evolved, so too has Wood Badge. Today, Wood Badge provides advanced training in leadership and teamwork for adult leaders in all Scouting programs including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity and Venturing, as well as district and council volunteers. There are two phases to the Wood Badge program. Details on Wood Badge and registration information are here.
